Our PCA have just successfully organised a special winter lunch order at Park Ridge Primary through Okka Pies. It was a wonderful experience dealing with Lynda. She was extremely helpful, patient and informative on the process. Communication with her was also very easy with her quick responses. Bottomline, they were very easy to work with which we greatly appreciated.
The party pies, sausage rolls and mini quiches looked delicious with beautiful golden pastry! They were delivered preheated and we managed to get them out to the students still warm. The overall feedback we have received from the teachers and students are very positive. It was an absolute delight coordinating our special lunch with Okka Pies and we would not hesitate to use them again. If you are considering doing a school special lunch, use Okka Pies!! Thank you Lynda!

Martin's Story

Our son, Martin is a complete quadriplegic as a result of a vicious unprovoked assult by four boys, when he was 17 years old. All his dreams of finishing his Motor Mechanic's Apprenticeship, and learning to fly a light plane, were now gone.

He spent the next 6 months in a coma, and 12 months in Hospital before being sent home, and we were told that nothing could be done for him, accept it, this is the way it is.

At this stage he could do nothing at all. Had no movement, couldn't talk, couldn't eat properly. Had to have absolutely everything done for him.

Martin had loved swimming and fishing, which were now out, and along the way it was suggested that we try "Sailability" for him. (Sailing for Disabled) He could be put into a little boat and taken for a ride. At least it was water related. He took to it immediately, even though he didn't know what he was doing and still had very little movement in his hands. He now uses a Servo unit, a battery operated motor with a toggle which he nudges to operate the Main Sheet and the Rudder.

He was invited to enter competitions and won many awards in his Division at State, and National levels, and in 2007 was invited to take part in the Inaugural Access World Titles at Whitby, Ontario, Canada.

For this he was required to find Sponsorship and this is when we met Ken, and Lynda, affectionately known in our household as Mr and Mrs Okka.

We approached Okka Pies for their Fundraising forms and when Ken heard what it was for he didn't hesitate to offer assistance in any way he could, and from our meeting with Ken and Lynda, many doors opened for Martin. He went to Canada and came home a World Champion in his Division.

We have no doubt that without the thoughtfulness and generous spirit of Ken and Lynda, with their massive big hearts, Martin wouldn't have gone to this event, and also on to win 2 more World Titles, at Rutland Waters, UK. (2010), and Middle Harbour, Sydney, (2012). And many more State, National, and Asia Pacific Titles.

It is with great pleasure that we offer Ken and Lynda our heartfelt thanks for all that they have done for Martin, and we wish them every success for the future,

"As we sow, so shall we reap"........ and may they reap abundantly.

Dot and Bev, (Martin's parents)

I am the Canteen manager at Healesville Primary school and I have been dealing with Okka Pies for over 15 years now. In all this time I have only great things to say. Ken and Lynda are truly wonderful business owners, they have always been such a pleasure to deal with, and have often gone out of their way to help out with deliveries and special orders. Over the years I have done many special lunch days with Okka pies, which the kids absolutely love. We hold Okka pie fundraisers often, and I have always had excellent feedback about the product. Thank you Okka... you are the best!
