Okka Pies is owned and operated by Ken and Lynda Hultgren, who started the business in 1991. Okka Pies is located on Mountain Highway in Bayswater, Victoria where we sell our pies and catering food direct to the public.  Okka Pies offers fundraisers which are available to schools, clubs and charities and our party finger food is popular for DIY birthdays and special occasions. Okka Pies also supply sporting club canteens, selected independent supermarkets, cafes and businesses for corporate lunches.

Okka Pies was awarded five awards in the Official Great Aussie Pie Competition in September 2014.

Your pies will be made fresh to order. We take great pride in ensuring our pies are of the highest quality. We use premium cuts of meat and fresh vegetables in our pies, we make all of our own pastry and our herbs and spices are mixed using our own secret recipes. Ken is very passionate about baking, and makes no excuses for being so particular when it comes to making our pies and pastries. Great care is taken to ensure each element required to make our pies is made to a very high standard and meets Ken's requirements. Whilst pastry can be temperamental by it's very nature, many years of experience have equipped Ken and his team with the ability to tell by feel when the pastry is just right. They carefully make the pastry to ensure they do not overwork it and they will never rework pastry offcuts into their fresh pastry. Majority of our business comes from repeat customers and word of mouth recommendations so we believe the quality of our pies speaks for itself.

Okka Pies is HACCP Certified so we guarantee that you will be satisfied with our quality products and that you will have peace of mind where hygiene and food safety is concerned.  Our pies are bagged, sealed and labelled to comply with food and safety requirements.

What is HACCP?

 HACCP stands for - Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point.  In short, the production and distribution of food are the most significant aspects of its quality and safety. HACCP is an integrated control system of food safety at all stages of production and distribution. The HACCP system includes a series of procedures to control the process and sensitive points in the food chain to ensure food is safe to consume.

Where did the name Okka Pies come from?

The name Okka Pies was chosen with the help of a family friend and respected businessman, which was based on a discussion around the pies being Australian owned and made.  The spelling of Okka with two k’s was decided upon by Ken, Lynda and their three daughters who liked the spelling with two k’s as it was unique.  Okka Pies is a family run business with Ken and Lynda’s three daughters involved in several aspects of the business.
